I run for weight loss and health.
A little over a year ago I weighed the heaviest I had in my life. I was 355 pounds and felt miserable. I had tried multiple weight loss programs with no success. I was sick of getting winded walking up hills, stairs, or even bending over to tie my shoes.
In January of 2013 I started Weight Watchers and finally started seeing results. By February of 2014 I had lost a little over 70 pounds. Then a good friend motivated me to sign up for the Run for Holland. I never thought I would be able to run a 5K but thought I would give it a try and agreed to run with her. After running I felt so much better, less stressed, had more energy, and just felt great. We have been running getting ready for the Run for Holland for almost 4 weeks and during that time I have lost over another 10 pounds. To date I have lost 83 pounds and am still losing. I feel the best that I have felt in years. I feel so much healthier and happier. I may not be the fastest runner but I improve everyday. I keep a picture from my honeymoon when I was at my heaviest as a reminder that I never want to look and feel that way again and I have a great friend that helps keep me motivated to keep going. I enjoy running every evening and can’t wait to cross that finish line. I want to lose over 100 pounds, get healthier, and continue to run and I get closer to this goal everyday. I also got more motivated when I heard about Holland and am honored to get to run for Holland. I run for health, friends, happiness, and to reach my ultimate weight loss goal.
